Invitation to “Films for the Forest” Online Screening 2020
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Rainforest Partnership is live streaming Films For The Forest, a collection of short films that highlight the importance of forests worldwide and the ongoing threats they face.
Films were selected for inclusion by a panel of celebrity judges; Oscar nominated filmmaker Richard Linklater, Actress Oona Chaplin and Film Producer, Francesca Prada. The live stream will showcase films submitted from twenty countries and all seven continents, including a submission from a filmmaker stationed in Antarctica.
The live stream can be viewed at filmsfortheforest.org on April 22nd, 2020 at 5:00pm Pacific Time for American audiences, 5:00pm British Summer Time for the UK, European and African audiences and 5:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time for Asian and Australian audiences.
Films For The Forest was launched in 2010 by Rainforest Partnership as a platform for storytellers, change makers and innovators worldwide to showcase their work and speak for the forest. This year, Films for the Forest is excited to move online after being a South By Southwest (SXSW) Community Screening Event for the past 8 years.
