We were deeply honored to connect audiences worldwide and get them transported to new places, discover new living perspectives, and be amazed by heart-warming forest stories. Some films focused on the present and on the value of keeping forests standing now and ‘Tam Mỹ Tây’, Runner-up in the Documentary category, is a wonderful example.”

Films for the Forest competition, powered by non-profit Rainforest Partnership, hosted an Online Global Screening event on June 30th and July 1st of 2023.

Submissions are now open for the 2023 Films for the Forest, an annual juried short film competition founded by Rainforest Partnership. Films for the Forest leverages the power of creative storytelling to inspire hope and reflection and move people to act on behalf of the world's forests.

Rainforest Partnership’s global initiative Films for the Forest recently hosted a screening in Tokyo, using the power of creative storytelling to share stories from the forest and foster connections among the growing conservation and sustainability community in Japan. The unique, first-time event was held on October 29 at 100BANCH, a creative multi-use space, with proceeds benefiting Rainforest Partnership’s mission to protect tropical rainforests.

Rainforest Partnership is holding an international film screening in Tokyo, Japan called Films for the Forest to bring awareness and connection to rainforests and the indigenous communities that depend on them. Judges for these films include Game of Thrones actor and environmental activist Iwan Rheon and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Richard Linklater, among others.

World Rainforest Day will showcase inspiring films on the importance of rainforest conservation from Rainforest Partnership's Films for the Forest 2022 competition.
